The Return....
Monday 26. of January 2009
Well, it was long. Australia day the night before leaving definitely didn’t help particularly with Nugget and Jack of the TTR in town to lend support and basically ruin all of my carefully laid plans. However, the mission from Innsbruck to Frankfurt went by and large without hitch, and airborne and back to paradise it was....
Arriving at 06:55 in the morning on the Condor flight is usually a bit of a hassle, the two direct busses to Santa Teresa leave at 07:00 and 14:00 respectively. However, I’d arranged a meeting with an incredible woman by the name of Noel Payne who has worked on Social and Ecological programs in Costa Rica for the past 20 years.
In a two hour low down, she put me in touch with a wide range of people from the presently forming Organic food Society, Eco-logica and Marviva the ocean awareness agency in the country. While Noel was careful to point out some of the disappointments that the past several governments have sadly not lived up to, she also identified some amazing people at hard working and effective agencies.
I extend a huge thank you to Noel for taking the time out from her studies early this morning, and seeing as it has been roughly 48 hours straight travel to finally make it back to the Nicoya, I am taking a break till tomorrow morning to find Youbi and my dog.
It is quiet, hot and you can hear the waves from Otro Lado, the unofficial HQ...
Peace.
